11.15.13 Duralex, A Love Affair + 5 Giveaways!
It's no secret that we love Duralex. They have been around for more than 80 years and are the only glass manufacturing company that makes ALL of their glassware in France. Located in La-Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin near Orleans, France, Duralex is famous for producing strong, clear, durable and aesthetic glassware used throughout Europe. Their glasses are known as the "the ultimate drinking vessels created by man."
Duralex glassware is lead free and non-leaching. It is completely hygenic as it doesn't absorb any liquids. Duralex is also safe in the event of strong shock; the glass would break into small pieces rather than jagged shards
It turns out, we're not the only ones that love Duralex. We've teamed up with 5 wonderful bloggers who share our mutual love for this durable, gorgeous, practical glassware...and they're each hosting a giveaway! Check out their beautiful photos below and enter to win some Duralex of your own!
"for those of us canners who prize mason jars for their sturdiness as drinkware, where do you go when you want glassware that’s just as hardy? For me, the answer is Duralex. I became obsessed with the iconic Duralex Picardie glass about five years ago and since then have built up a sizable collection of tumblers..."
"I’m rather picky about the glasses we have on rotation around here. I’m of the opinion that if it’s something you touch daily, you’d better love it. It was a great surprise to open up the box from Duralex and discover that the shape and feel oftheir 7.5-oz tumbler set jives with my aesthetic and tactile preferences. These glasses finally ousted my flower-pot-shaped, just-meh IKEA nesting set I had on hand for entertaining, and thankfully so!"
"I am so excited to now be able to serve my tasty meals on this beautifully simple glass dinnerware from Duralex, where the food gets to be the center of attention. I am already dreaming of fun ways to set my beautiful outdoor dining table for Thanksgiving, around these plates."
"The great thing about this food storage set is that all of the sizes nest within one another (very important in a 64 sf kitchen). The largest size is perfect to hold a big batch of soup, while the smallest is great for pesto, chopped herbs, peeled garlic. They are freezer and microwave safe, and sturdy enough for banging around in my most hectic kitchen days."
"the range of sizes in the set – from big ol’ mixing bowl to itty bitty pinch bowl –means I may finally beready to part with a few members of the hodgepodgecollection of plastic bowls I’ve collected over the years for an upgrade to glass."
