- I'll admit that I'm in a Mad Men state of mind which is making me hyper aware of advertisements these days. Especially the ones that are dangerously misleading. Of course, we're no longer in debate as to the health ramifications of smoking cigarettes but we still have a long way to go for many common household products.
- One of those products is deodorant. One brand claims it's product,"Keeps You Cool, Dry, & In Control, So You Can Handle Any Situation!" Wow. That's a serious promise. The chemicals surely block the sweat and keep you dry but the "in control" part? Another conventional deodorant pledges, "Protection You Trust, Protection You Love!"
- Protection from odor; yes. Protection from harmful chemicals entering your bloodstream; no.
- The concern is a real one. It's important to know exactly how the body reacts to the scent-masking chemicals that exist in many deodorants. Let's face it- having a pleasant scent or the lack of a synthetic scent is preferable among many people. And so are having non-toxic pits. - But it's summer. It's hot. And we naturally prepare to stay comfortable, cool and odor-free throughout the day and for many people, that inevitably involves using a deodorant. It's understandable that "natural deodorant" gets a bad rap. So few brands make a product that actually works and so many seem to make armpit odor even worse!
- So here's one that works and is well worth a try.
