Aromatic…Soothing…Natural…Fresh.  These are the words that immediately come to mind when I pick up a bar of Badger soap – and that’s while it’s still in the box!  Just imagine how intoxicating these all natural soaps are when you actually wash up with them.  It’s quite a difference from mainstream commercial soap!

Conventional soaps can contain parabens, phthalates, artificial fragrances and harsh synthetic chemicals such as dioxin, triclosan, propylene glycol and synthetic dyes and fragrances.  Yikes!  Badger soaps are all natural and made with USDA Certified Organic extra-virgin oils, waxes, exotic butters, herbal extracts & pure essential oils.  That’s all! No detergents, foaming agents, artificial “fragrance” or color, synthetic or harsh ingredients used. Read more...

This is a guest post written by a new member of the MightyNest community. She is just beginning her journey towards creating a safe and healthy home for her family. Amanda will be writing posts periodically, sharing her journey with us.

Up until about a month ago, I would call myself a blissfully ignorant consumer. I took everything at face value. Any claims made on a product’s packaging I would believe. Parabens: Can mimic other hormones and disrupt the hormone system. Worse in leave-on products like deodorant.

Aluminum compounds: These compounds form a coating on the surface of skin, blocking the sweat glands and keeping you dry. The main purpose of perspiration is to release the toxins in the body and to regulate  body temperature! By blocking the sweat glands the aluminum compounds inhibit the release of harmful toxins from the body. These unleashed toxins then go back inside the body and are distributed throughout the body by the lymphatic system. The accumulation of these toxins can lead to various ailments. Read more...

Upon another day of my children being sick, me being sick, and the refrigerator being broken, I headed to the co-op on a mission. Forget that it was dinner time, we should all be home, eating and resting. I was there to stock up on things to help us all be well. One can only be sick and passive for so long!

I stocked up on soup, tea tree and lavender essential oil for the humidifier, Echinacea (for the kids and for me), tea, and some Badger balm. You must know that my youngest daughter was suffering from awful dry, crusty and cracked skin on her face, around her eyes. I've written about her here before, she has really sensitive skin. She was in such pain-- all around and under her eyes was red and raw. This was from her being sick, days and days of running eyes and nose. I tried sooooo many products. Nice toxin free lotions. Mainstream brands (I was desperate). Other lotions the doctor recommended. Nothing worked. So I was skeptical of the Badger Balm actually working. Read more...
