When packing a waste-free lunch you'll need a variety of safe, non-toxic food containers - reusable sandwich and snack bags are a great place to start! Here at MightyNest we have reusable options for everything from sandwiches, carrot sticks, crackers and more. And, given that different situations warrant different needs, we wanted to make sure we offered solutions for reusable sandwich and snack bags that meet everyone's needs.
Here is the lowdown on each of these four options for reusable snack bags and reusable sandwich bags:
Semilla Reusable Sandwich Wraps
Our newest addition, these colorful reusable sandwich wraps are perfect for lunches. With these you can wrap up your sandwich and then open it up and use it as a placemat. The outside is made from cotton and the inside liner is nylon. This wrap has a velcro enclosure.
To wash, simply wipe the nylon clean with a damp sponge. For a more thorough cleaning, these wraps can be hand or machine washed. Completely BPA, Phthalate, PVC, Lead Free. We currently carry these wraps in six different patterns.
Snack Taxi Reusable Snack and Sandwich Bags
The exterior of these bags are made from 100% cotton and the inside is lined with nylon. These reusable snack bags and sandwich bags have a velcro closure and can be machine washed and dried, or simply wiped clean with a damp sponge.
These are very easy to clean, dry quickly and come in lots of cute patterns. They come in two sizes, one for sandwiches and one for snacks. Snack Taxis are completely BPA, Phthalate, PVC, Lead Free. We currently carry these in 15 different patterns.
Kids Konserve Reusable Plastic Sandwich Wraps
These reusable sandwich wraps are made from recycled, FDA approved, non-toxic, non-leaching, recyclable PE plastic. This product is free of Bisphenol-A (BPA), PVC, Lead and Phthalates.
Easy to wash - just rinse in the sink and air dry in minutes. These wraps open flat and therefore can also be used as a placemat. Made from #4 plastic, these wraps are recyclable - simply cut off the velcro closure and toss them in the recycle bin! These are currently available in four colors and are sold in sets of two.
Eco Ditty Wich Ditty and Snack Ditty Sacks
Made from 100% organic cotton (inside and out) these reusable sandwich bags and snack bags have a velcro closure. The colorful fabric is printed with low-impact inks and have un-dyed organic cotton liners. Since these have a cotton liner and are not easily wiped clean, they are perfect for less messy sandwiches and snacks. If you're not worried about staining, you can use for anything, though!
Best cleaned by throwing in the washer and dryer. Completely BPA, Phthalate, PVC, Lead Free. These sacks some in two different sizes, snack and sandwich, and are currently available in six unique patterns.
So, which ones do I use? All of them! I use the Snack Taxi's for messier sandwiches like peanut butter and jelly or wet snacks like carrot sticks. Eco Ditty's are great for drier sandwiches (think no condiments) and snacks such as rice cakes. The Kids Konserve food wraps are perfect for messier sandwiches, as well as when you're traveling and won't be near your washing machine for awhile. And I really like that the Semilla wraps can be used as a placemat for when you're just not sure how clean that table is...
