Homemade Hot Cocoa

Ingredients per serving 

1 1/2 cups milk 
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon sweetener (white or brown sugar, honey, agave syrup)
1/2 to 1 oz dark chocolate (optional)
Pinch of sea salt or ground cinnamon
Homemade marshmallows for serving (optional)1/2 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon sea salt 

Directions 

  1. On the stovetop, heat milk just short of boiling
  2. Whisk in the rest of ingredients until well blended 
  3. Top with marshmallows or whipped cream if desired 
  4. Sip very slowly and thoroughly enjoy every last bit!
