Mod Green Pod
Mod Green Pod is a proud member of the Organic Trade Association (OTA). They follow the fiber standards set forth by the OTA and are working hard to support the slowly-but-surely-organizing Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). That said, the biggest threat to authentically organic fabrics comes from conventional textile companies who overstate their environmental practices. This practice is often called “green washing,” and they encourage customers to ask questions about the products they are purchasing. Mod Green Pod will continue to push for improvements in its own practices and that of its production partner.
Their fabrics are printed on 100% certified organic cotton grown in the United States. They are proud to be helping revitalize (and make more green) the domestic textile industry by also weaving and printing our product line completely in the United States. Doing so also helps minimize the company’s carbon footprint by reducing energy expenditures on shipping. Their non-toxic pigments are imported from Germany, as they have found these to produce the highest-quality product while complying with the GOTS standards. In accordance with GOTS, they do not use fabric protectors, color fast agents, stain resistants, wrinkle-free agents or fire retardants on our products. This way they know there are no dangerous chemicals such as formaldehyde (wrinkle-free agents), PBDEs (flame retardents), or PFOA (i.e. Teflon/Scotchgard) off-gassing into your home.
