This unique Simax Poultry Roaster is made entirely from glass. The dish cooks from the inner cavity of the poultry. The design of the dish allows for draining of fat and crisps the skin. You will find a faster cooking time than conventional roaster.  Also works great as a serving dish with vegetables surrounding the chicken. Microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe.

I have used my new chicken roaster once since receiving it recently. I was expecting it to be quite a bit thicker than it is- the glass is pretty thin in my opinion (much less than a glass measuring cup or pie dish or other glass baking items I'm used to). The size of the cone surprised me, too- it seems to be pretty small. The photo of the product features a chicken sitting on it nice and taught, perfectly fitting. That must be a cornish game hen because the normal chickens I've been buying at Trader Joe's just flop around on the cone. I ended up taking the chicken off and stuffing lemons, garlic and onion in the cavity and putting it back on the cone. Everything seemed to fit, but it's awkward. I'd rather use a roasting rack. The other thing I don't care for is that there is a thin lip at the edge of the dish. After roasting, the chicken drippings had spattered a bit (which always happens regardless of the dish I use) and got lodged under that lip. Between the delicate-ness of the dish and the difficulty of getting under that lip clean, it's kinda a pain in the neck to clean by hand. I doubt my dishwasher would have been able to get that off either because I had to scrub really hard with a green scouring pad.

Other than that, I love that it's glass, free of lead and cadmium and has a 10 year warranty.
