I looked high and low for a glass pitcher with a glass or BPA free lid, and the only one that I could find was this one by Anchor. Although you can find many glass pitchers with plastic lids, they do not specify BPA free. I bought two to store extra filtered water at home and my business. It is solidly made and would not be easy to break - the glass is thick. I found it difficult but not impossible to remove the BPA free plastic ring from the lid before I put them in my dishwasher - it took some work. I gently used a dull knife to pry them loose. You could wash them with the plastic rings on, but in my book, they would not be clean. I found MightNest's price to be the best even with the $5.95 shipping. Other online stores required you to buy a case of four. This was also shipped fast. I received it about four business days after I ordered them and I am in Florida. I was also pleased with the communication from MightNest. I would recommend this product and company - Thanks!
