Does not heat evenly.
I needed a new wok to replace my ancient, cheap, non-stick one. I debated between cast iron and stainless and went with this one. I am not overly happy with it.
The base of the wok is only about 5" across - exactly the size of the small stove burner. When using it on that burner, only the part of the wok directly above the burner gets hot. The sides do not heat up at all. After cooking for 30 minutes, I could still easily lift the wok by the handles.
If you put the wok on a large burner, the sides heat up a bit, but then you are wasting tons of energy. Also, I feel it's a bit of a fire hazard as your red-hot burner is now mostly exposed and could catch a pot holder on fire.
The cast iron itself is well-seasoned and washes up well.
