Groovies are anything but far out, they are used to help teach children sorting, ordering, opposites, and patterns. This set made from sustainable Michigan basswood contains 28 grooved blocks with debossed numbers, math symbols, geometric shapes corresponding to the number on the opposite side, and an activity booklet. It was named one of Readers Digest Magazine’s Best 25 Toys.
The blocks are tested regularly and always surpass standards on ink safety. They purchase the inks from an American manufacturer that doesn’t use any heavy metals. Says Uncle Goose, "To keep them honest, we test every gallon of ink before we put it on our blocks. We’re fanatic about quality and safety." There are no sealants or coatings used on the blocks. Blocks are CPSIA certified.
Uncle Goose blocks are handcrafted in Grand Rapids, Michigan out of local basswood sustainably grown around the Great Lakes, Uncle Goose blocks are not only a great educational toy but they are a delight to handle. Basswood is ideal for making blocks because of its light-weight, light-colored and odor-free properties. Non-toxic inks are used on the letter embossing, beveled edges, and classic styling of each block.
