my son who is almost 2 has been using this spork since he was about 9 months old. It is our favorite cause he can use either side. I like that it is not sharp because it is perfect for him. I look for it everytime i make him food! He loves it too. It cleans up easy and looks and feels great. I am buying more for my new little guy on the way!

I haven't purchased this item because of 2 concerns. I have a couple of small bamboo sauce spoons from Pampered Chef that have had splinters, which is dangerous. My other concern is that a youngster could become hurt with the tines of the spork, by accidentally getting poked in the face/eyes. Young children first learning to eat by themselves tend to flail their arms around a bit and thus, my concern for injury.

If you did buy one & try, you would know how blunt the fork is. Can't really poke into food (my opinion. Just for noodle. Mine didn't have any splinter after using for quite a while. I bought some other (other brands) bamboo utensils & they do have splinters. I think it may be related to what kind of bamboo / which part they use?

I keep it in my diaper bag for restaurants so my kids always have kid friendly untensils. Plus if they end up playing with it, it's pretty safe!
