Hot off the Press: Delicious Recipes and Tips for Insulated Thermal Containers

Yes, another school week is here, and that means shaking up the lunch-packing routine. If your kids aren't sandwich fans, or they like a variety of lunch options, we recommend an insulated thermal container so you can fill it with any number of hot (or cold) nutritious lunches.

Helpful tips for keeping food warm in a thermal container:

TIP 1: Preheat it first. Fill your container with boiling water and let it sit for five minutes. Empty the water and fill it with your favorite food.
TIP 2: Fill it last. Pack your hot (or cold) food before you head out the door and it will remain at the right temperature until lunch time.
TIP 3: Start hotter. Heat your food to a piping-hot temperature before packing. It’ll be hot and perfectly safe to eat by lunch time.
TIP 4: Use an insulated lunchbox. Also, whenever possible, keep your lunchbox indoors out of the elements.
TIP 5: Fill it up. Food will stay warmer when it’s filled to the top (e.g., no air gaps).
