Return to all job postings

MightyNest is hiring an experienced full-stack software engineer who is looking for new challenges at a fast-growing and passionate business, backed by many of Chicago’s leading investors.

If you’re looking for the freedom to express your craft, want to be a major contributor to a business instead of only working on bits and pieces, and love creating well designed systems, we want to talk with you.

Who is MightyNest

At MightyNest, we are passionate about making a dent in the world by helping our customers find healthier, greener solutions for their homes. Our team is a driven group of experienced professionals who value teamwork, are extremely focused and hard working, yet prioritize a healthy balance of personal time. We are a highly collaborative, dynamic group where you will be challenged to do amazing work. It will NOT be boring.

Our warehouse operations and front office operations are co-located in Skokie, IL just outside the city limits of Chicago on the North side. Our team comes from across Chicagoland including various neighborhoods in Chicago, Evanston, and the Northern Suburbs.

What You'll Help us Build

We have a variety of interesting projects on the horizon from machine learning for personalization to building scalable ecommerce solutions just waiting for the right engineer. Our applications are technically interesting with lots of data, challenging analytics, many unique customer experiences, performance optimization challenges, operational/warehouse considerations, and a customer who loves our service.

We have a thoughtfully architected Ruby on Rails application based on Spree Commerce with excellent test coverage. Our engineering team will be growing quickly in the next 12 months, and you will be a key leader in developing the engineering culture, processes, and standards. Our engineering team is still small, so you will have great freedom to put your stamp on the application as well as the organization. Whether your life’s passions be family, a unique hobby, service, or something else, we will support you in being a key contributor without sacrificing those priorities. This is not a standard corporate gig.

Our platform offers a great opportunity to innovate - helping a business make the world a better place.
