Alaffia EveryDay Shea Body Wash is handcrafted with neem extract, essential oils and fair trade, unrefined shea butter from cooperatives in West Africa, to gently cleanse away pollutants while nourishing and protecting your skin. Alaffia's production methods and ideals are rooted in ancient African traditions that they proudly share with the global market. Shea butter, coconut oil, and a natural saponifier made from plantain leaves ashes and tree bark are heated and stirred until the hot saponification process is complete. The soap is scooped into a large metal bowl, where it expands up into a palm-frond basket and cools. The cooled soap is placed onto palm frond mats to dry in the sun. The product is a truly natural liquid hand and body soap is ultra-moisturizing and gentle for skin.
Choose Lavender with lavender oil or Vanilla Mint with vanilla extracts and mint oil.

Apply body wash to a loofah, scrub or washcloth and work into a lather. Rinse thoroughly. May also be used as a hand wash. For external use only.

About Alaffia
Alaffia Founder & CEO Olowo-n'djo Tchala saw many injustices growing up in the small village of Kaboli in Northern Togo, West Africa, including gender inequality and poverty. He founded Alaffia with Prairie Rose Hyde to fight these injustices through sustainable health, education and environmental initiatives. He met Rose in 1996 when she was invited to serve as an environmental volunteer in the Peace Corp in his home village. From the beginning, the two shared a desire to positively impact humankind. They returned to the US determined to make a difference in West Africa. In 2004, armed with his understanding of the value of indigenous West African resources and an understanding of sustainable business ideologies, he launched Alaffia's first collective. Alaffia aims to alleviate poverty and advance gender equality through the Certified Fair Trade of indigenous resources and community empowerment initiatives. Alaffia continues to redefine the natural products industry through its values of beauty, equality and empowerment.
