What Makes It Mighty?
- mats & cloths absorb 15xs their weight in water
- matching sets brighten kitchen with delightful patterns printed with water based inks
- long-lasting 6 months or more and fully compostable
These marvelously absorbent dishcloths and drying mats from Sweden are wonders in the kitchen. The natural, earth-friendly cellulose & cotton fabric was invented in Sweden in 1949 and absorbs 15 times its weight. The cloths leave kitchen surfaces virtually streak-free and the mats fit nicely under a countertop drying rack.
Cloth: 6" x 8”
Mat: 13.7” x 12”
The fabric is durable enough for repeated machine washings and if properly cared for, can last 9-12 months. Clean in the washing machine or top rack of the dishwasher. Cloth can be boiled or microwaved (when damp) for 30 seconds. Air dry -- do not tumble dry. Note: If using mat on its own (not secured under a drying rack), dampen mat and wring dry then place on countertop — this will allow for a flat drying surface. Biodegradable and compostable.
Package free; primarily compostable except very minor components (e.g. plastic toggles or small stickers)
My stainless steel dish drainer has a plastic tray liner and water seems to always pool underneath. This large drying mat has been the solution as it keeps it constantly dry now! I also love the dish cloths and all of the fabulous prints
My Son Just moved. He loves the Swedish cloths. About a year ago He move and I sent him a basket of Green Cleaning and personal items, kitchen and bath items. He hinted that a “moving for the new job” should have a basket. He’ right lol. I got him his favorites, the #1 for him is Swedish cloths. Gy tty
The drying mat is great and the cloth is good for plates or flat surfaces. You can only bunch it up when it’s wet so it would be hard to clean out a bowl or a glass. But I like it because I don’t have a lot of counterspace and after doing a few dishes I don’t have to keep an entire drying rack on my countertop.
I was so excited to get this, but should have paid a lot more attention to the size of it. It’s great that it’s so absorbent for putting my hand washed dishes on… however, I can only put about four glasses on it, before I have to stop washing and dry the glasses and put them away because there isn’t room for more on the mat. There isn’t enough room for a full sized dinner plate. Rather bummed. Should have read the dimensions in the description much closer.
The drying mat is a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be. It's not large enough to cover the entire area underneath my drying rack. I do like the print and the dish cloth works great.
I love the swedish cloths.. but the drying mat is on the smaller side and doesn’t cover the base of my bamboo drying rack. If I order again I will have to get two so all of the water is absorbed.
Although this seems to be nice and absorbent, it's way too small. If you only have a few dishes to drain, it'd be okay
