Nice little container

Nice little container

I received this container as my Mighty Fix subscription last month and it's gotten a lot of use already. The lid is really nice - leakproof but easy to open for sending to school with my 7 year old son. He had a mouth surgery recently and has been on a soft/no-chew diet for 6 weeks, so this container couldn't have come at a better time since I've been packing his lunches with several small containers of soft things (yogurt, hummus, gelatin, cut-up soft fruit, etc) every day. A couple of times he hasn't put the lid on all the way after eating most of what was in the container, so fruit juice or yogurt has gotten out on the inside of his lunch box. He never has a problem with this on any of the other containers we use, so I think it might be because this lid doesn't "snap" into place or screw on like our other containers and he can't tell that he hasn't gotten it on all the way sometimes. So that might be something to consider.

My only other complaint is that it came with a sticky label on the metal part that was impossible to remove cleanly. After trying to get it off and numerous times through the dishwasher, there are still bits of the sticker and a sticky residue on the outside of the container. Not that big of a deal, but for the price of my Mighty Fix subscription it would be nice to have products that look clean as well as function well, and not ones that keep getting dirt stuck to them because of a brand label that left a residue.

Nice, but overpriced

Nice, but overpriced

I like this container a lot, particularly the lid. However, given its size I would not have willingly paid $10.49 for it. I received it as a mighty fix.

About Eco LunchBox
ECOlunchbox was born of the idea that change can begin at lunchtime. I wanted to make a change in how I packed my family’s lunches – to cut out the plastic and do the right thing for our health as well as Mother Earth. It seemed like a pretty simple concept. Design a food container out of something plastic-free and make it available to friends, family and through an online store. Since founding ECOlunchbox as a triple-bottom-line social enterprise in 2009, the business has scaled beyond my initial vision.
