Homemade Pumpkin Spiced Latte

This flavor combo is the obsession of millions. When fall rolls around, so does the pumpkin spice latte. If you are like many who would love the warmth but would rather pass on the extra calories and sugar, this version is for you. Our friend Brittany from the blog Eating Bird Food has a delicious + healthy alternative recipe to whip up at home. Brittany is a health coach, personal trainer and healthy food maker.

Healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces of brewed coffee (or 1-2 shots of espresso)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 3 TBLS of pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2-3 drops of liquid stevia (or sweetener of choice)
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions:

1) In a cup or saucepan, mix together almond milk and pumpkin. Cook on medium heat on the stove top.

2) Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, spices, and sweetener, place in a cup and use a frother to foam the milk. You can also use a blender, just process for 30 seconds or until foamy.

3) Pour coffee into a large mug and top with the foamy mixture and a sprinkle of cinnamon. ENJOY!
