Stainless Steel Cookware Made in the USA

I'm sure everyone has experienced the frustration of not being able to get the temperature right on the stove and ending up with burnt rice or sauteed onions. Or, maybe it was the pan and not really the temperature at all...

Well now there's an easier and healthier way. Cooking with high quality tri-ply stainless steel cookware allows for greater control of the heat distribution.

What is Tri-Ply Cookware?

Tri-ply refers to a construction featuring two layers of high grade 18/10 stainless steel sandwiched around an aluminum core. These three materials work together to create an outstanding conductor of heat. The aluminum core is extended all the way up the side of the cookware to ensure a more stable, all-around source of heat. The aluminum is fully enclosed by the steel so it does not come in contact with the food. And we love that American Kitchen stainless steel pots and pans are made in the USA!

Other benefits of cooking with tri-ply stainless steel cookware:

  • Helps cook foods faster and retains heat better
  • Even cooking with few hot spots
  • Heats up foods faster and uses less energy
  • Doesn't react with acidic foods
  • Durable and long lasting: expect 25 years of use
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Foods don't stick with use of oil

Beyond the outstanding control of heat, you can also be assured that cooking with stainless steel (or cast iron and ceramic) eliminates the harmful release of PFOA's (Perfluorooctanoic acid) produced by non-stick cookware. PFOA's are the breakdown, when heated, of flourotelemors (PFC) and are linked to both cancer and birth defects in animals and epidemiological studies suggest that they may reduce baby's birth weight in utero. Also of concern, studies by Environmental Health Perspectives have shown links from high levels of PFOA to higher rates of thyroid disease. And even more unsettling news, PFOA's are very persistant and never break down in the environment.  Read more on the dangers of Teflon and PFOAs.

*An important note: If you have a nickel allergy, we recommend using Ceramcor's Xtrema skillets and pans which are made out of clay.
