I have yet to see how they hold up when dropped and overall seem great and sturdy however, I was VERY disapoited in the size of them. They are tiny, maybe I habe a giant toddler but these are way too small to use seriouly for my kid. sad because I was so excited to have these for my kids.

love love love these dishes! Great way to avoid plastic for my 2 year old!

You must have a hard floor (tile?). My son has repeatedly thrown his cup and bowl on the floor and they haven't broken. We have a wood floor. Our other glassware does not stand up to this (thus he isn't allowed near it).

We wanted to get away from plastic dishes. I had found some stainless steel-lined plastic dishes, but they weren't great. Then I found these! Fantastic. My just turned four year old loves that she feels like a big girl using them (because they are glass). My 22 month old can bang the snot out of them and even throw them (we are trying very hard to get him to stop doing this) and they haven't chipped, cracked, scratched, or been damaged in any way! Fabulous!

The set is great. One thing I did't notice is that both the kid and the toddler set have the same plate (same size). Only bowl and tumbler are smaller. Which is not bad just something I've missed when ordering.

My kids/family have been using these plates for over 7 years and have yet to break one - and that's saying a lot considering I have a 7-year old boy and 3 year old, very active, girl. We don't throw them around, but we certainly aren't super careful either.

While I liked that this product was safer, it is no more break proof than your regular glass. My daughter broke both the plate and bowl within a week. If you treat it like normal glass, you'll be fine.

love this dish set.
my 11 month old is not yet using them on her own (she uses the silicone cups to "drink" by herself) so we have yet to test their durability, but the size is perfect.
one of the best features: they don't heat up in the microwave like all my other dishes, so i don't have to worry about a hot bowl with lukewarm food.
really cute dishes.

We bought a set of these for our two boys and have found it to be no stronger than any ordinary glassware. In fact, we barely have any left from our set of 6 bowls and 6 dishes. The dishes that have been dropped have only been dropped maybe 2 feet onto the floor, so they haven't been used under "rough conditions." Also, "Safe - if broken by strong shock, Duralex shatters into small pieces reducing the risk of injury" is NOT a good thing. These dishes shatter into so many pieces that they are incredibly difficult to cleanup. Not only that but it is difficult to find all of the pieces. The pieces are exactly like any other glass as well, they are sharp and will easily cut anyone trying to pick them up. I can completely appreciate the idea of these dishes but in our experience, they have been more hassle than they're worth. The mass explosion of glass when they do break is not worth it.

We love the dish set. I was a little surprised by how small the cup was, (think shot glass!) but my son loves them. I love the fact that they nest neatly in my cupboard and I dont have to worry about toxic chemicals leaching into my sons food every time I put hot food on the plate!
