For many people, myself included, having a baby is a turning point in your education and decision-making when it comes to buying products for your home.  If you’re like me, you knew nothing about baby clothing (I actually had to Google “layette” and I’m still not sure I know what it means), nursing products, strollers, baby wraps/carriers, car seats, etc.  But, you want to make sure you’re giving your tiny little bundle of joy the best start to life so you start researching.

Inevitably, you come across the acronym BPA.  Then, you see labels that say “BPA Free” and you think, perfect, I definitely want to avoid BPA.  And then you see labels that say PVC free, Phthalate free, Paraben free and then you start to wonder – just what are all of these things and why are they in some products?  And, if the products I’m looking at are free of these things, which products are NOT free of them?
