Use Greener Cleaners
08.16.09 Use Greener Cleaners
You have to clean, so why not go green?! If replacing your whole cleaning supply collection makes you cringe, how about trying one at a time? When you run out, replace that product with a healthier alternative. We can’t clean for you (sorry!) but we can help provide you with what you need to know to have a healthier home. Cleaning products are among the most hazardous products found in the home. While most people don’t experience any immediate reaction while using these cleaners, it is the effect over time that can lead to serious health problems down the line. When buying cleaners, avoid ammonia, alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs), antibacterial soaps, butyl glycol (or ethylene glycol monobutyl or butyl cellosolve), chlorine bleach, diethanolamine (DEA), fragrance, phosphates, sodium hydroxide, and sodium lauryl sulfate. Read product ingredient labels, and buy only the safest brands free of the above list of chemicals. Read more about Non-toxic cleaning here.
