We've been evaluating the ingredients and materials in products for over a decade and we've learned so much along the way. A lot of thought and extensive research goes into every item we offer. Our considerations for each product are as multifaceted as the products themselves — packaging, sustainability impact, ingredients and materials, quality & design, and effectiveness.

Durables made with safe materials

We seek reusable alternatives to single-use disposables and plastics. We choose items made from safe, chemically stable materials that are long-lasting and durably constructed. We look for high quality, non-toxic materials like organic cotton, New Zealand wool, food grade stainless steel, food grade silicone, natural rubber, borosilicate & soda lime glass, FSC wood, water-based paints and low-impact dyes.

Materials and products must be lead-safe, and we never allow BPA, PVC, phthalates, melamine, formaldehyde, flame retardants, and parabens as ingredients in our products.

Consumables
that are gentle

We require all of our consumables to be safe and effective. We look for responsibly sourced ingredients and carefully crafted formulas. We opt for plant-based and fragrance-free wherever possible. And when we do include synthetic materials, we thoroughly research them to be sure we are completely comfortable with their safety standards.

We require ingredient transparency from all vendors to verify all components meet our high standards. We never allow ingredients that are known hormone disruptors, carcinogens, or reproductive toxicants.

Meeting our standards for safety is not enough. We require it to be effective + an easy fit for your everyday routine. We won't even consider something for you until it's been personally tested by our team, families, friends and even pets.

We establish close working relationships with every vendor, require transparency of product materials and ingredients, and verify that all products, testing and sourcing meet our standards. We also conduct ongoing audits to ensure continued adherence to our criteria.
