What Makes It Mighty?
- fits hario v60 dripper
- made from 100% organic cotton cloth
- reusable filter brews clean tasting coffee without extra acids from bleached paper filters
CoffeeSock Organic Cotton Filters are a reusable alternative to paper filters and nylon sacks. These filters out-perform any comparable disposable and reusable filters. CoffeeSock filters are made with cotton (90% cellulose - a tasteless and odorless compound) that, unlike paper, imparts no flavor on the finished brew. Cotton absorbs some of the oils released from coffee beans yet lets acids pass through. The resulting cup is clear crisp, rich and robust with all the acid of paper brewed coffee, without the paper taste, and all of the richness of French press without the heavy oiliness. Filters are sewn and packaged by happy human beings making a fair and living wage in Austin, Texas.
Made to fit Hario v60 Dripper
Use: Initially, boil new filters in fresh water to clean and shrink for 10 minutes.
Using your favorite method of brewing, add desired amount of coffee, and brew as is customary. After brewing, discard grounds (great for the compost), and thoroughly rinse filter. Hang filter to dry. Every 4-6 weeks of use, boil filters in fresh water to remove accumulated coffee oils. If the filters are soiled with perishable food at anytime, boil for at least 5 minutes to sanitize.
Easy cleanup: Just empty grounds, rinse, and hang to thoroughly dry.
Package free; primarily compostable except very minor components (e.g. plastic toggles or small stickers)

Certified Organic Cotton
We have been using these in place of paper for two months or so. We love them. They turn brown from the coffee, but as recommended I boil them occasionally to remove the coffee oils. Well made, look like they will last. We won't go back to paper.
While we loved the quality of these filters and the fact they are reusable, we had to stop using them. Water does not drain fast enough, backing up and causing the grounds to overflow and drain down into the brewed coffee. We have boiled them repeatedly to remove all oils or anything else trapped in the cloth, but cannot get the water to drain properly.
About CoffeeSock
"Follow Me" -your dreams... CoffeeSock to us is our dream found. It is a simple, thoughtful, and resourceful brand, one that makes us proud to be a part of and share with the world. We created a sustainable product, one that is built around community and ritual. CoffeeSock was birthed late 2011 in a 'necessity is the mother of invention' moment. Out of Chemex coffee filters, and with an old traveling Chorreador, aka 'coffee sock' from Costa Rica as inspiration, we made an organic fabric filter for the Chemex. It performed so well that we were inspired to create models for all popular coffee brewing processes. As we began to offer these for sale, the reception was so enthusiastic that we turned all of our attention to developing a brand, a family business, and to changing the world ONE SOCK AT A TIME! Since starting with just pour over designs, we moved into all popular sized filters, including creating the simplest Cold brew kit on the market.
