These 11" diameter Duralex glass dinner plates are made in France from non-toxic, non-leaching, shock-resistant tempered glass. The Dinner Plate is especially suited and sized for large, evening meals and both hot and cold foods.
Named after the Lys River which traverses through France and Belgium, Lys Glass Dinner Plates by Duralex, are symbolic of what this wonderul tributary used to represent to some of France's most famed artists: clarity, simplicity, utility, and of course, beauty.
Duralex is a great choice for glass dinner plates because it is:
- Extremely Durable - Duralex tempered glass is 2.5 times stronger than ordinary glass
- Shock resistant - Duralex is manufactured to withstand sudden temperative extremes from 4 to 212 degrees
- Safe - if broken by strong shock, Duralex shatters into small pieces reducing the risk of injury
- Hygienic - Duralex glass is nonporous and does not absorb liquid
- Stackable - Duralex glasses and bowls are stackable for convenient and space saving storage
- Microwave, Freezer and Dishwasher Safe
Please note: While Duralex glass is very durable and much less prone to breakage than regular glass, it can still break under rough conditions. Due to the manufacturing process of tempered glass, plates do have imperfections in the glass.

Great Size - Durable
We have been using these plates for 3 months now and they wear really well! They have stood up to a temperamental toddler girl, a distracted 9-year-old boy, and their two tired parents. :) These are a great size for dinner plates, especially for the adults; we prefer the 9" dinner plates or 7" dessert plates for lunch and sometimes for the kids' dinners. The only drawback was that they felt a bit plain, so we decorated the underside of ours with durable glass paint and we now have a unique and fun set of dish ware that is safe for our family, but can still go in the dishwasher.
