This simple, yet elegant glass plate is named after the Lys River which traverses through France and Belgium. The Lys Calotte Plate by Duralex, is symbolic of what this wonderul tributary used to represent to some of France's most famed artists: clarity, simplicity, utility, and of course, beauty. The Calotte Plate is part of the Lys Dinnerware Set. Duralex plates are formed from tempered glass, equally suitable for both hot and cold foods, and are dishwasher and microwave safe.

Great for keeping the sauce on the plate!
We have been using an assortment of Duralex plates bought from this site for 3 months now and they wear really well! They have stood up to a temperamental toddler girl, a distracted 9-year-old boy, and their two tired parents. :) We like these particular plates for pasta or chow mien! They keep sauces and noodles on the plate and off the table. To be fair, these have been our least used plates--the dessert plate size was our favorite--but what they do, they do really well! The only drawback for all the dishes was that they felt a bit plain, so we decorated the underside of ours with durable glass paint and we now have a unique and fun set of dish ware that is safe for our family, but can still go in the dishwasher.

I love the bowls. They're perfect for soups and salads and big enough to hold a serving without it sloshing over when carrying it to the table.
And I must compliment Mighty Nest on their excellent packaging. I've never received anything from an online store that packaged their items as well as Mighty Nest. Superb!
