What Makes It Mighty?
- discreet design looks great on countertop to collect a weeks' worth of kitchen scraps
- reduce landfill waste & toxic emissions by composting food scraps instead of throwing them in the trash
- fully compostable kraft paper bag with a vegetable-based leakproof liner, toss whole bag in compost pail
Full Circle’s Scrap Sacks are single-use, certified-compostable food waste bags. Made of natural kraft paper with a vegetable-based liner, they’re cute enough to leave out on the kitchen counter and leakproof (for damp foods, but not liquids). Throw in your food scraps and toss the whole bag! If you don’t fill it up, roll down the top to seal and add more the next day. Use the bag on its own or as a bin liner for the Full Circle Fresh Air compost bin.
Size: Pack of 10, 1.5 gallon capacity each
Collect food scraps and toss entire bag in your compost when full
Package free; primarily compostable except very minor components (e.g. plastic toggles or small stickers)
Scrap Sack Compostable Food Waste Bags
Recycled kraft paper, PLA lining, water-based ink
I recently took up composting in 2021 and I love how much it cuts down on waste. These bags are great, and perfect for collecting food scraps. They actually hold a lot more than I thought they would and they fit in the freezer really well! When I put food scraps in I usually roll the top of the bag down so it can compactly fit in my freezer.
That being said, the big con for me is that these bags take WEEKS to a month to break down in the compost bin.
I'd like to be able to use these, but my local garbage company does not accept them in the compost bin because of the PLA lining. The industrial process needed to "compost" these appears to be rather specialized, as with other bags I've seen referred to as compostable. Make sure to check your local restrictions before putting these with other compost.
About Full Circle
It’s a simple reality: our product choices are limited to what we can find on store shelves. And more often than not, products that are the most accessible aren’t always the most eco-friendly. Or good looking. That’s just the way it’s been for ages. But the game has changed—with Full Circle’s line of stylish, functional products made from sustainable and renewable resources. Like scrub brushes with sleek, bamboo handles and sponges made from cellulose, a plant-based fiber. They’ve even made pot scrubbers that fully biodegrade! Important behind-the-scenes changes are happening at Full Circle, too—such as improved working conditions, cleaner manufacturing methods and higher environmental standards. Even their suppliers have come around to their way of thinking. (They’re kind of persuasive that way.)At Full Circle, we believe in constantly striving to do things better. Because while there may be a finite number of resources in the world, there’s an infinite number of ways to use them more wisely. And figuring out how to do that is what gets us up every morning.
